Special Collection for the Network

Special Mission Item Collection
to support The Network

Our first item collection supporting the Network is this Sunday, October 1st.

This Sunday we will be collecting personal hygiene and toiletry items such as:

  • cotton swabs

  • toothbrushes

  • toilet paper

  • facial tissues

  • baby wipes

  • body wash

  • deodorant

  • shampoo, conditioner, and lotion for women of color (i.e. Carol's Daughter and Shea Moisture products).

Items can be brought to worship Sunday, October 1, and all items collected will receive a blessing during worship before being delivered.

The Network serves the towns of East Windsor, Enfield, Somers, Stafford, and Suffield. This non-profit organization is North Central Connecticut's leader in preventing family violence, providing services to victims of domestic violence and promote healthy relationships through education with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Domestic victimization is correlated with a higher incidence of depression and suicide. The Network offers free counseling to domestic abuse victims and their children and free court advocacy services to victims. It also operates a 15 bed confidential safe home for individuals and families fleeing domestic abuse and provides training on the dynamics of domestic abuse to healthcare and professional groups.

The Missions Outreach Ministry Team will be collecting donations for The Network's Wishlist three times during the church calendar year on the first Sunday (Communion Sunday) of October, January, and April. Each collection will be a different theme based on victim needs.
