Spiritual Life Ministry

Right from birth, your children are spiritual beings, beloved by God. They are also keen observers of life around them, especially the words and actions of your family members. We want them to observe and learn how to worship as well as to learn the important parts of our Christian faith. We want your children to be an active part of our church community.

Children and Youth

Children and youth are vital community members at First Church of Christ, UCC, Suffield. Kid’s Worship Bags are available for all children at both entrances to our Sanctuary. They include our Children’s Worship Bulletin which coincides with the thematic elements of worship.

Message for All Ages

Your children are always welcome in our Sanctuary for worship. We welcome them to the front for a Message for All Ages each Sunday during worship and encourage participation in the activities of worship.

The Pray Ground

We are pleased to offer The Pray Ground for children and their caregivers. This developmentally-appropriate space at the back of our Sanctuary makes it just a little easier for young children and those with special needs to worship with us. We offer soft and quiet toys, books to read, coloring pages, and other interactive options beyond our Kids Worship Bags.

Hands on Faith

Hands on Faith is our fun, interactive, scripture-based, missions-oriented gathering for children in kindergarten through 6th Grade.

We explore how to live out the Bible stories and connect them to hands-on mission activities. Your children have the option to attend Hands on Faith on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. It’s led by our Spiritual Life Ministry Team Leaders.

Youth and Young Adults

Our youth and young adults are invited to participate in worship by taking on various leadership roles such as assisting with Hands on Faith, serving communion, usher responsibilities, serving at mission events and more!

Confirmation

Confirmation is a lifelong process of maturing in the Christian faith. Families begin this journey when they make promises to God at a child’s baptism and it continues throughout one’s life. Youth in Grades 7 -12 are invited to join us on a 6-month journey of what it means to follow in the teachings of Jesus. Learn more about these offerings in our Faithful Families brochure or contact the church office!
