Maundy Thursday

This evening we observe a service that commemorate the final hours of Jesus’ life on this earth. Maundy Thursday, the day Jesus celebrated Passover with his disciples for the last time and gave them a new commandment: to love one another as he loved them. "Mandatum" is Latin for "commandment" which has been shortened to "Maundy" much to the confusion of Christians ever since.

A Service of Tenebrae or a Service of Darkness commemorates the suffering and death of Jesus. Tenebrae is the Latin for shadows. This service is the most-beloved service of the year.

We welcome you to join us this evening, in person or online.

Come as you are, for this is God’s house—a house of prayer for all people, and God welcomes each one who comes.
